Dear Citizens,

As superintendent of Surry County Public Schools, it is my pleasure to welcome you to our website. Surry has always been a special place for all students and citizens. We are excited about the many opportunities our schools offer to our students and families. Please take time to explore our website and partake in the many rich activities in all of our schools. This year all of our schools and the division earned the distinction of making Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) as required by the federal government. All three schools are fully accredited. I am excited about the many new changes we have planned for this year. Expansion of our dual enrollment program is in the planning stages and more will be published about this as the program develops. Our schools have been cleaned and prepared for this year in numerous ways. The elementary school has a brand new gym floor and a newly built playground while the high school has a renovated stadium named after Coach William Miller. These are but a few of the upgrades that will demonstrate our dedication to excellence for our students. During this year, help us help our students be successful. We need our students at school every day so that we may teach them. Our goal is success for our students and with your support, we will meet this goal.
