Governor's School Applications

As part of its Gifted Program, Surry County Public Schools continues to be a participating school division with the Appomattox Regional Governor's School for the Arts and Technology (ARGS) in Petersburg, VA. Current eighth grade students who are legal residents of Surry County are eligible to apply for the 2009-2010 school year. Applicants should have at least a "B" average for the seventh grade, and be enrolled in Algebra I or a higher-level mathematics course. Students are required to have successfully completed Algebra I for high school credit prior to enrollment. Application packets are available from the Guidance Office at L. P. Jackson Middle School (LPJMS). The absolute deadline for returning completed applications with all materials to LPJMS is December 1, 2008. There is no exception to this deadline.
