Surry County Public Schools' vision is "to provide a safe, healthy learning environment that prepares all students to be competitive and productive citizens in a highly technical and global society."

Our goal is to teach every child, every day, successfully. In order to accomplish this goal we must provide a safe learning environment that fosters academic excellence. We strive to meet state and federal accreditation benchmarks. For 2007-2008 we are one of 23 school divisions within the Commonwealth of Virginia that met Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP).

WHAT IS SURRY ACADEMY FOR GLOBAL EDUCATION (SAGE)?

Surry County Public Schools and Thomas Nelson Community College have entered into a partnership to offer a dual enrollment program in Surry County for students in grades 9 & 10. This program is called Surry Academy for Global Education (SAGE).  (Click here for qualification information)

Committed to its vision, through the efforts of the staff, community, parents and students, this Comprehensive Improvement Plan provides a blueprint for student success. This plan was also designed as a response to the 2001 No Child Left Behind Law for the purpose of closing the achievement gap with accountability, flexibility, and choice so that no child is left behind.
