    AGRS GOVERNOR'S SCHOOL APPLICATIONS

    • As part of its Gifted Program, Surry County Public Schools continues to be a participating school division with the Appomattox Regional Governor's School for the Arts and Technology (ARGS) in Petersburg, VA. Current eighth grade students who are legal residents of Surry County are eligible to apply for the 2018-2019 school year. Applicants should have at least a "B" average for the seventh grade, and be enrolled in Algebra I or a higher-level mathematics course. Students are required to have successfully completed Algebra 1 for high school credit prior to enrollment. Application packets will be available from the Counseling Office at L. P. Jackson Middle School (LPJMS) on October 16, 2017. The absolute deadline for returning completed applications to LPJMS is December 1st.       VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION SUMMER RESIDENTIAL PROGRAM

       
      Applications for the Virginia Department of Education's Summer Residential Governor's School Program are available from the Guidance Department at Surry County High School. Persons interested in applying should submit completed applications to the Guidance Department. See the attached SRGS application for specific dates and deadlines.
