    Cap

It is with great excitement and enthusiasm that I serve in my new capacity as your new Principal. I am honored to serve Surry County Public Schools in my new capacity. I am committed to working in partnership with the staff, students, and families to provide a safe, healthy learning environment that prepares all students to be competitive and productive citizens in a highly technical and global society.

I am currently entering my 19th year in education; 14 years here in Surry County and 4 years in Norfolk Public Schools at Norview High School. I spent 10 years in the classroom as a Health and Physical Education teacher before moving into the role as Athletic Director. In addition to teaching, I really enjoyed coaching football and basketball. Of course, the pinnacle of my coaching career was in 2019 when our Cougars won the VHSL Class 1 Boys State Championship and being named Coach of the Year.

As your new Principal, my vision is to establish and maintain a rapport with each family to continue to increase our parental involvement. Research has shown a connection between parental involvement and student achievement. Our children are the future and it takes all stakeholders to be actively involved in the educational process.
