Message from the Athletic Director
I am truly excited and grateful to serve Surry County Public Schools for my third year as Athletic Director. It is an honor to lead and support our student-athletes as they strive to reach their highest potential—not only on the field and court, but also in the classroom and in life.
The 2025–2026 school year was a tremendous year for Surry County athletics. Across our athletic programs, our student-athletes, coaches, and families demonstrated hard work, dedication, resilience, and Cougar pride. We celebrated many accomplishments and created memories that will last a lifetime. I am incredibly proud of the commitment and effort displayed by everyone who contributed to such a successful year.
As we look ahead to the 2026–2027 school year, I am even more excited about what the future holds. We have an opportunity to build upon last year's success, raise the standard even higher, and continue developing programs that provide our student-athletes with opportunities to compete, grow, lead, and succeed.
In addition to serving as Athletic Director, I am proud to begin my third year as the FBLA Advisor and my second year as Head Coach of the Girls Varsity Basketball Team. Each of these roles gives me another opportunity to invest in our students, encourage their growth, develop leaders, and help them understand that success extends far beyond wins and losses.
Over the past several years, I have been blessed to work alongside dedicated coaches, teachers, staff, parents, and community members who share a common commitment to the success of our students. Together, we are continuing to build a culture of excellence, opportunity, accountability, leadership, and Cougar pride throughout Surry County.
As a proud graduate of Surry County High School and a member of the 1998 football team that brought home the school's first football state championship, this work is deeply personal and meaningful to me. To return home and have the opportunity to serve the same community that helped shape me is something I do not take for granted.
The future of Surry County athletics is bright. As we move into 2026–2027, I look forward to continuing to build champions—not just in competition, but in the classroom, in our community, and in life.
Thank you to our student-athletes, coaches, staff, parents, alumni, and community for your continued support of Surry County athletics. Let's build on the tremendous success of 2025–2026 and make 2026–2027 an even greater year for Cougar Athletics!
