As a school division, we seek highly qualified teachers but are also excited about providing a home for those just getting their start. We strongly encourage those with a provisional license to apply; however, getting a start is not limited to our teachers. Surry County Public Schools also encourages our Instructional Assistants to take the steps to become certified teachers. We have had several former assistants receive their teaching certificates and move on to classroom instruction.
