A Different Way of Thinking and Learning

Children who are gifted are defined as those who demonstrate an advanced ability or potential in one or more specific areas when compared to others of the same age, experience, or environment.

More Than Just Good Grades

Myth: Gifted students always get good grades and high marks in their classes. Being a high achiever and a gifted learner are two different things. High achievers often display the characteristics of what most would consider good students: organizational and time management skills, all As, advanced readers, etc.

Advanced Intellectual Abilities

Reality: Gifted students can also get poor grades and lack the management skills to be conventionally successful in school. Gifted students have identified advanced intellectual abilities. Gifted students demonstrate a divergent, unique way of thinking and solving problems. This does not always match our ideas of what good students look like in school.
