School Resource Officer (SRO) and School Security Officer (SSO) Appreciation Day is a time to recognize the vital role these professionals play in our educational community. These dedicated individuals do far more than monitor hallways; they serve as mentors, informal counselors, and a reassuring presence for students and staff alike.
In Virginia, SROs and SSOs are the front line of school safety, working tirelessly to bridge the gap between law enforcement and youth while ensuring our schools remain secure, learning-focused environments. We honor their commitment to protecting our most precious resources, our children.
