FBLA Honor Chapter

Surry County High School’s Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) chapter demonstrated outstanding achievement and leadership at the Virginia FBLA State Leadership Conference, held April 10–12, 2026, in Reston, Virginia.

Throughout the conference, students participated in a variety of competitive events, leadership workshops, and networking opportunities, representing Surry County High School with professionalism and pride. Their hard work and dedication were recognized as the chapter earned the prestigious Honor Chapter distinction, a testament to their commitment to excellence in leadership, service, and career preparation.

In addition to the chapter’s success, Dr. Shanita Glaspie, FBLA advisor, received special recognition during the conference as she was announced as the Regional Tri-Cities Director. This honor reflects her leadership, dedication to student development, and continued impact on FBLA at both the local and regional levels.

Students were accompanied on the trip by advisors Dr. Shanita Glaspie, Jasmine Highsmith-Ruffin, and Wilhelm Johns, whose commitment and hard work play a vital role in the chapter’s success. Their support extends beyond the classroom, as they mentor, encourage, and challenge students to reach their full potential. Their dedication ensures that students are not only competition-ready but also equipped with valuable leadership and career skills that will benefit them long after FBLA.

The accomplishments at the state conference highlight the strength of Surry County High School’s FBLA program and its focus on preparing students for careers in business and leadership. The chapter looks forward to building on this success in future competitions and continuing to represent their school and community with excellence.
