FCCLA Chapter

Surry County High School’s FCCLA (Family, Career and Community Leaders of America) chapter recently showcased its excellence at the Virginia FCCLA State Leadership Conference, held April 10–12, 2026. Students represented their school with professionalism and skill, earning honors, and 3 students secured advancement to the national level.

Jasmine Flores earned first place in the Job Interview event. Her performance demonstrated outstanding communication skills, professionalism, and preparedness.

In addition, the team of Aybree Harr and Addyson Rogerson achieved second place in the Nutrition and Wellness event. Their project highlighted their knowledge of health, nutrition, and community impact, reflecting both creativity and a strong understanding of real-world applications.

With these high placements, all three students have qualified to compete at the FCCLA National Leadership Conference, marking a significant accomplishment for both the students and Surry County High School.

The students were guided and supported by FCCLA advisor Jacqueline Johnson, whose leadership and dedication continue to foster student success. They were also accompanied by Cameron Drew, a former Surry County High School student, who contributed support and encouragement throughout the trip.

The success of these students highlights the strength of Surry County High School’s FCCLA program and its commitment to developing leadership, career readiness, and community engagement. As they prepare for nationals, the school community celebrates their achievements and looks forward to cheering them on at the next level.
