Leadership Appointments

Surry, VA — On Tuesday, April 14, 2026, the Surry County School Board approved employment recommendations for the 2026–2027 school year, including several key leadership transitions that reflect the division’s continued commitment to excellence in education.

Among the appointments, Mr. Sinclair “Aaron” Harris has been named Principal of Luther Porter Jackson Middle School (LPJ). Ms. Jowanda Hill has been appointed Assistant Principal at LPJ Middle School. Mrs. Tabitha Hite has been named Division Literacy Specialist, and Ms. Trina Craddox will transition into a senior leadership role as the Compliance and Federal Programs Coordinator. These appointments highlight the division’s dedication to developing and elevating strong instructional leaders who are committed to student success.

Superintendent Dr. Monroe shared, “It is essential for educators to pursue their interest and passion throughout their educational journey. I believe placing these instructional leaders in roles that align with their strengths is a win for students, staff, and our Cougar families.”

All new assignments will officially begin on July 1, 2026. However, each appointee has already begun engaging in strategic planning and collaboration to ensure a seamless transition and continued progress across the division.
